Personality
I'm a "pocket" shepherd! I only weigh 35 lbs and probably won't get much bigger. So I will always have that fresh, "puppy" look!
I am a timid girl. I do pretty well within the confines of my world...my foster home and the yard.
In my very short life, I have overcome illness and injury and am working hard at finding my place. Will it be with you?
I am very timid when I meet new people and it will take time for me to warm up - like weeks!
But once I do, I LOVE to Love and Play and Run and Walk and go and go just like any other puppy.
I like to go on walks, but "things" out there scare me, like barking dogs or loud trucks or other people we meet, so I will need you to help me feel safe.
Within the confines of my house and yard, I'm pretty brave and I will bark at strangers to let them know that this place is mine.
I'm pretty quiet the rest of the time though.
Socialization
Does the dog like other pets?
I get along very well with my foster siblings and we play and run and rough-house all the time! I definitely need another 30 lb + dog to play with. And I LOVE kitties... they are my favorite, but keep an eye on me 'cause sometimes I can get a little enthusiastic!
Does the dog like children?
My shy, quiet nature would make it difficult for me to live with small or active children, or families with lots of neighborhood kids coming and going, so it would probably be best that my forever home be with a single person (I do prefer the ladies, but am learning that guys are okay too) or couple currently without kids.
General social placement notes:
I would like to go to a home with other dogs and cats. They help me come out of my shell. And I love to play!
Favorite Toys
I like squeaky toys and I'm learning how to play tug with my canine siblings.
I love to get creative...tossing and pouncing!
Forever Home
I get braver and stronger and more snuggly every day, so if you meet me, don't take my shyness to mean that is how I am all the time. Once I am sure of you, I will pester you to play ball and tug and will chase and play with the other dogs like crazy! And snuggle time on the couch and the bed is a must! I just need the time and love to learn that a new place is safe and welcoming and I will be your loyal, loving companion for years to come!
