Personality

I am very affectionate. I love to sleep right next to you on the bed or cuddle next to (or on top of) you while you are reading or watching tv. I am a little bit selfish and don't always like to share the attention.

What are the dog's favorite toys or things to do?
I'm not very interested in toys, although I do like to chew on hard toys and kongs, but have been known to destroy even the sturdiest toys, so it's best if I am supervised. I basically like to play with whatever my foster siblings are playing with and sometimes try to take it away from them. I'm getting the hang of fetch, but haven't quite figured out the taking turns part.

My forever home:
I am a very smart girl and pick up news things quickly, which can result in quite a bit of mischief. I still have some puppy left in me, so I am very curious and get inquisitive when I am bored, which happens easily. Either a home where someone is frequently home and I get a lot of interaction or a VERY escape proof yard is essential.

Socialization

Does the dog like cats? Live with cats?
I don't live with cats now, but have in the past. I did o.k. with them, but since I am fairly active, I might be a bit much for them to handle.

Does the dog like other dogs?
I live with other dogs now and we get along alright, but I have a strong personality and try to be the top dog. I do better with male dogs, mostly because they are less likely to put up with my attitude.

Does the dog like kids?
I don't live with any children now. I have in the past and seemd to do o.k.

Should the dog be placed with other pets and/or kids?
I would probably be fine in a home with kids, but a few introductions, just to make sure, would be a good idea. A home without dogs or possibly a home with a male dog would be best.

Training and Behavior

Housebroken?
Yes, although I am not usually left for extended periods of time without being able to go outside.

Crate trained?
No

Has the dog had any training?
I have picked up basic obedience commands by watching my foster siblings and am taking Canine Connection at ABRT now.

Does the dog escape the yard? Dig? Bark excessively? Anything else?
I am quite the escape artist as I have gotten out of both chain link and wood fences by climbing them. I have also been known to climb trees in order to escape. My foster family has added some reinforcements to their yard and, so far, I haven't figured out how to get out. It helps that I am not left in the yard all day and when I am in the yard, there are other dogs with me to keep me occupied. I do like to bark at typical dog things - squirrels, the mailman, birds - but do well at keeping quiet when I need to, such as when I go to class.

Does the dog ride well in the car?
Sometimes I am antsy and like to try to ride in your lap or stick my head out the window, but if I am worn out after class or a romp at the park, I am a perfect angel and you can't even tell I am in the car.

Is the dog food aggressive?
I will sometimes try to steal food from my foster siblings, most likely due to my confusion over my place within the pack, and can be over-zealous when getting special treats. ABRT can recommend some exercises to help me with this.

Fearful of anything?
New situations stress me out and I tend to get very quiet or defensive. I am also uneasy around dogs I don't know.

Health

I am happy and healthy.
