Ranger - Foster Needed!

What's not to love about me?

I'm an extroverted guy who loves attention and being petted. I'm good at the groomers and have my basic obedience cues down. I have a sweet, sensitive soul. I love my ball and playing fetch means everything to me. I also enjoy adventures. What's not to love about me?

General Socialization Notes:
If it were up to me, I'd snuggle up to my family all day every day, or go on an adventures with them. I love car rides. I've learned to be quiet during the day at my foster mom's feet while she works. I used to get sad and anxious when she left, but I've become very familiar with going into my crate while she's gone or snuggling up on the couch until she returns. She also bought me a snuggle puppy stuffed animal that has a 'heartbeat' and I've loved curling up with it in my crate. It's really helped me settle in quickly in my crate! She also crates me at night when she goes to bed. I developed some noise sensitivity but it may have been due to stress.

Does Ranger like other animals?
I sometimes react to dogs on leashes and behind fences as I pass them, but I've been working really hard over the last month on my training and am getting better about ignoring them and not being as afraid they might pop out from the fence. I do resource guard so I might do best as an only dog. I tried to meet a cat once, but wasn't given ample time and boundaries to get familiar with the cat. If a family is interested in me that has a cat, I'll need time to warm up to it and proper introduction methods to see how I might do. I've been to a barn that houses horses, and was introduced to them while being on leash. I really wasn't interested in them and didn't react as I do with dogs while being on leash. When we ran out in the field where horses were being ridden, I was WAY more interested in a ball and playing fetch.

Does Ranger like children?
While I haven't been exposed to children, it might be best if children in the house were slightly older (8+). Sometimes I get really excited about toys, and I'm still learning the 'drop it' cue. A late grade school, middle schooler, and high schooler might better understand to be patient with me.

Favorite Toys:
My favorite activity has been going to a field and retrieving a thrown ball over and over again. Inside the house, I love playing fetch, but I also love playing keep away. It's so much fun! Really any dog toy will get me excited if my new family is willing to throw it for me!

Ideal Forever Home:
My ideal home would be one with a patient person or family who will love me unconditionally. I'd love a family that I can snuggle up to on the couch with, who will throw a ball or toy for me, and bring me along on their adventures and car rides! I would do best as an only dog. I love going for walks. If my next home has a fence around the yard or farm land, I'd love to spend time in the yard with them as they do yard work or play with me. I have a lot of love to give, and am ready to have a place in my furever home.

More dogs looking for foster homes

Meet Jace! He is a 1 year old, Cattle Dog/Great Dane mix. He has had a rough start. He can be a bit fearful of men but has been working on gaining their trust. He is working on impulse control as well. He is very intelligent and very treat motivated. Once he warms up, he loves ear scratches, he is silly and he loves playing in water! He has done well with other dogs.

I have a heart of gold! I’m energetic and goofy, cuddly and kissy, and there is nothing I like more than being chased! I need slow introductions to new people and I bark initially upon meeting, but after getting to know someone, I am so friendly and sweet. I like my crate and I enjoy chewing on bones and sticks. I also like taking socks to my crate when nobody is looking. I'm a big puppy and scared of new situations and do best with a dog friend to help me feel safe. I love dogs but I can, occassionally, be selective. I want to play with cats but they don't understand my play bows. I am a sweet girl who just needs time, patience and training to be all that I can be! General Socialization Notes: I am playful, enthusiastic, energetic, and great in a car until I see a person or a person with a dog out the window, then you will hear my big bark. I react on a leash to people, dogs and wildlife and have been working on meeting people with one of my dog friends at my dog daycare. Play is my biggest reward and I love playing with my friends. Once I trust a person, I'm very affectionate but it does take me time. Does Zara like other animals? I am reactive on a leash when I encounter dogs and wildlife. I'm getting better at not reacting to people. I get along with my male dog friends at daycare and live with two chihuahuas, a shepherd mix, and four cats. Introductions need to be done in a proper way to ensure my success. I can be pushy with housemates with getting attention and I like to take all the toys for myself. Does Zara like children? I don't currently have any kids to play with, but with my enthusiasm, it might be best if I'm with kids over 8, just so everyone is safe in play. Favorite Toys: I enjoy playing with and chewing on a variety of items, such as sticks, bully sticks, tug toys, and stuffed animals. Ideal Forever Home: My ideal home would be one where I receive regular attention, exercise, and mental stimulation. I learn quickly and already know cues such as sit, down, touch, and crate. I would be a good companion for a male dog, but I could be the only dog in a household and be fine too. I need an experienced dog owner to setup introductions to new people and dogs and continue working with me on my confidence.
I live for fetch! Who wants to play with me?

I live for fetch! Who wants to play with me? I'm your personal adventure buddy with a heart of gold and energy for days! I am very playful, very sweet and I really love attention. I am a friendly guy but I will also look out for my humans. I do have alot of energy and will play endlessly. I'd love a family that will keep me busy! I do well with other dogs but I don't really like to share my toys. I would really do best as an only dog. No apartments please because I'd love a yard where I can run and play! General Socialization Notes: I am a very social pup. I do well with humans and I enjoy training. I love having a job! I am also crate trained. I do pull a bit on leash but am willing to work on that. I have been known to shred doggy beds with fluff or foam but mostly when I feel bored. I definitely feel much better when I get regular exercise. Does Draco like other animals? I like other dogs, I just have trouble sharing my toys with them. I have gone to doggy daycare and I have lots of fun. I think I might like to be the only dog in my home so I can get all the love and attention from my humans. I've also lived with cats and have done well with them. Does Draco like children? I haven't met small children but I have met teenagers and I've done just fine. I may do best in a home with older children due to my excitement and energy. Favorite Toys: I love all toys: balls, ropes, plush toys or squeaker toys. Be forewarned, I will chew/destroy toys quickly, even the ones that are made for intense chewers. That doesn't stop me! Ideal Forever Home: My ideal loving, forever home would be with a very active family that loves hiking and being outdoors. I'd do best in a home with a yard to allow me to let out all of my energy. I'd prefer a home as only dog to get all the love. Training is a must for me because I am very intelligent and love to learn. I'm looking forward to meeting my new family and sharing our lives together.

Georgia's on my mind - because she's the cutest pitbull this side of the Rocky Mountains. Will this rescue pup be your next forever friend?
